Walking in Spirit: God’s time is the right time

Psalms 27 vs 13-14; “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

Have you ever noticed that we all seem to be in such an awful hurry, we need things to happen now and not later? If it’s a career you want to get to the top the minute you arrive on the job.

It seems to be an inherent culture for us to always think we are late. The question I have often asked is: where are we in a hurry to get to? Where do we want to go and what is the immediate pressure pushing us in that direction?

We seem to somehow believe that one should profit from quick returns in whatever form they come. We have not mastered the fact that everything must go through its cycle of life.

To give birth, both man and animals have a gestation period that they must endure for life to be birthed at full term. Should you rush an idea or a process before its time, you will be met by complications similar to those that someone who has given birth before their full term may experience.

There is a time and place for everything, a journey starts, proceeds and eventually reaches an end. Have you ever heard about an idea that was said to be ahead of its time? What it means is that the recipients were not ready to receive the revelation at the time it was made.

Humanity had to be slowly familiarised with the concept of redemption at different stages. The prophets would speak of a Messiah to come and depending on what stage they received it, people would grasp that something greater was intended, but they did not understand what it was.

Sometimes in pursuit of our dreams and aspirations we are guilty of not knowing that it is not yet time for them to actualise. We are so certain that this is what we want and we want it now and we will do anything to make them come true, even before the time set for that has arrived.

Rushing ideas or dreams before the set time can be a recipe for disaster, sometimes the Lord places things in our hearts, but requires us to wait until the time He has set for them to come true.

Be Blessed.
