Cape Town — Australia have beaten New Zealand in Sydney to win this year’s Rugby Championship and keep alive their chances of regaining the Bledisloe Cup.
The Wallabies won 27-19 after trailling 6-3 at half-time.
The Wallabies scored three tries through prop Sekope Kepu, wing Adam Ashley-Cooper and replacement scrumhalf Nic White. Centre Matt Giteau was on target with two conversions and a penalty while White converted his own try and added a penalty.
The All Blacks, who looked considerably below par on the night, replied with a brace of tries by debutant Nehe Milner-Skudder. Flyhalf Dan Carter was successful with three penalties.
With their victory the Wallabies clinched the 2015 Rugby Championship and, should the win the return Bledisloe Cup clash in Auckland next weekend, they’ll add that coveted trophy to their cabinet. — Sport 24
