War vets call for decent burials of departed comrades

ZANU PF has called on Government to prioritise the disbursement of resources for exhumations and re-burials of veterans of the liberation struggle.

President Mnangagwa recently said freedom fighters who perished during the liberation struggle should have their bodies exhumed and accorded decent burials.

In an interview yesterday, Zanu PF War Veterans League Secretary, Cde Douglas Mahiya said a committee will be set up to spearhead the exhumations and burials of combatants lying in mass graves in and outside the country.
The exhumation committee will comprise chiefs and war veterans.
