People living with disability as a result of the war of the liberation struggle under the banner of the Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association (ZLWVA) have saluted the late national hero, Cde Tshinga Dube for his selfless contributions to the country’s freedom, development, and sovereignty.
In a statement by the Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association national spokesperson Cde Collins Kasiya, extended the association’s condolences to the Dube family and applauded President Mnangagwa and the Politburo for recognising the late ex-ZIPRA soldier by according him national hero status.
“On behalf of the Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the revolutionary ZANU PF party, and the whole nation on the passing on of national hero, gallant son of the soil, the indefatigable Retired Colonel Cde Tshinga Dube,” he said.
“He was a leader who tirelessly served war veterans and the victims of the liberation struggle during his tenure as Minister of the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs.
“His commitment to the welfare of war veterans and victims was unparalleled, and his vision for a united Zimbabwe will continue to guide us.”
Cde Kasiya also hailed the national hero for his contribution towards the creation of a united post-colonial Zimbabwe, “we bid farewell to this exemplary leader, we honour his selfless contributions to Zimbabwe’s freedom, development, and sovereignty. His legacy inspires us to forge ahead, united and resolute.
“He shall forever be remembered for his courageous leadership in averting a potential civil war in the formative years of independent Zimbabwe, ensuring the integration of ex-ZIPRA soldiers into the Zimbabwe National Army.”
