The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Higher Education, Tertiary, Science and Technology has given the Bindura University of Science Education innovation hub a thumps up.
The committee, led by the chairperson, Bulawayo North MP Ms Minenhle Gumede, visited the university to gain a better understanding of its operations.
Ms Gumede said that as parliamentarians, their responsibility is to monitor and evaluate the activities and programs being implemented in higher education institutions.

She commended the university for its work, noting that it aligns with the country’s development goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ms Gumede also mentioned that “Education 5.0” is promoting innovation and industrialisation.

She hailed the presence of young talented individuals at BUSE who are poised to elevate the nation to greater heights.

Two innovations that particularly impressed the committee were on the use of natural ingredients in medicinal and beauty products and the development of antibacterial and antifungal soaps, oral mouthwashes, and other products.

Ms Gumede was also impressed by the ZINARA e-tolling and express card.
