The trial for apostolic leader Madzibaba Ishmael Chokurongerwa failed to kick off today after he failed to show up at court.

Madzibaba Ishmael and one of his lieutenants, Takavengwa Gwenzi, failed to show up at the Norton Magistrate, where their lawyer indicated they were both hospitalised.

Even though Madzibaba Ishmael is still in custody on another matter, he was issued with a warrant of arrest for failing to notify the court of his condition.

Takavengwa is out on bail.

The cult leader is believed to be admitted at the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services remand hospital while his counterpart is at Parirenyatwa.

Norton magistrate Christine Nyandoro confirmed both warants.

However, it is believed to be against the duo’s beliefs to seek any medical attention.
