Warren Park 1 Polyclinic has resumed almost normal operations following the resolution of the industrial action by nurses over late pay, back pay and full operations should resume soon.
Council, which runs the facility, thrashed an agreement with staff resulting in them going back to work.
When The Herald visited the clinic yesterday, patients were being attended to as usual.
On Monday, the clinic was closed as nurses were unavailable to serve the patients and expecting mothers.
Children could not be vaccinated.
After talks and the payment of October salaries on Wednesday last week as a sign of good faith by council, nurses went back on duty.
City health director Dr Prosper Chonzi told The Herald that they had crafted an arrangement that will see patients being attended to although the clinic is not fully opertional. “For Warren Park 1they will be working from morning up to 4pm. Then those that may want to be served after that time can visit other surrounding clinics like Hatfield, Mabvuku and Kuwadzana for services,” he said.
Dr Chonzi said they were working hard to ensure the maternity ward was open every day.
“Because of some challenges that we are having at the moment with our workers, the maternity ward is not functioning full time.”
“We are committed to serve patients all the time and we are working hard so that normalcy returns at all our clinics,” he said.
