Malawi 1-4 Zimbabwe
ZIMBABWE national team continued with their good away record when they beat Malawi in an international friendly at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre yesterday.
The Warriors dominated much of the game and opened the scores in the 10th minute through Peter “Rio” Moyo who had a good game after surviving an accident before their departure back home.
Moyo together with Kuda Mahachi, who grabbed a brace, were doubtful for the game but made it in the starting 11.
The Warriors trio of Moyo, Mahachi and Milton Ncube were involved in a car accident on their way to Harare from Bulawayo ahead of the trip and they quickly recovered to take part in the match.
Malawi scored first and former Caps United player who is now with TP Mazembe Joseph Kamwendo initiated a move that saw Washington Arubi in goals for Zimbabwe beaten by a header.
Zimbabwe returned for the second period a determined side and they settled first with Mahachi tormenting the Malawi defence.
Mahachi initiated the third goal which was scored by Kingstone Nkata after some good exchanges with Ali Sadiki who replaced Moyo in the early stages of the second half.
The Malawi defence was put under pressure throughout with Nkata and Knowledge Musona threatening whenever they had position.
Ronald Pfumbidzai was also given time to play in the last minutes of the game when he replaced Hardlife Zvirekwi.
