Warriors still in it … just

THE Zimbabwe Warriors go into a crucial African Nations Championship Group D encounter against Mali needing nothing short of victory if they entertain any hopes of progressing to the next stage.

However the Warriors can still have a glimmer of hope if they come out with a draw although those hopes can turn into nightmares if Uganda beat Zambia in the other Group D match later today.

A draw for the Warriors will bring them level with Uganda.

Uganda will have four points, if they beat Zambia, the same as Mali while Zimbabwe will still be on one point with one game against Uganda left. Then they have to convincingly beat Uganda and hope that Mali defeat Zambia.

However if the Warriors snatch a win as hugely expected this afternoon and depending on their winning margin, they can temporarily shoot to the top of the table but could find themselves on second spot after the second game.

If they win, the dream, like it is now will remain very much alive.
