IT’S WAR ON THE WICKET!
Defending champions Mtshingwe Primary School are on a mission to retain their crown, and only Mazwi Primary stands in their way in what promises to be a firecracker final of the Old Mutual/CABS Cricket Tournament at Old Mutual Ground in Bulawayo.
Mtshingwe stormed into the final with an emphatic eight-wicket demolition of Baines in a five-over slugfest. Coach Tyson Meki is all fired up and ready to strike again.

“We’re locked in. The boys are hungry,” declared Meki, oozing confidence ahead of the blockbuster clash.
Mazwi were equally ruthless, thrashing hosts Old Mutual by eight wickets in their semi-final to book their ticket to the big dance.

Tournament director Kennedy Chitsaka was all smiles. “Everything has gone according to the script. It’s the final we all hoped for.”
The showdown has drawn top brass with Deputy Minister of Sport Emily Jesaya gracing the event as Guest of Honour. Also spotted on the boundary ropes were SRC board member David Simba and Deputy Director in the Ministry of Sport Isaiah Mpofu.
Cricket fever is on and only one school will walk away kings of the pitch.
