WATCH: Entumbane woman arrested for hosting drug-fueled party for school children

POLICE in Bulawayo have arrested a 36-year-old Entumbane woman for hosting a drug party for school children as young as 12 years old where they abused illicit substances such as broncleer cough syrup and smoked marijuana.

The woman, Nikita Mhlanga, was picked up by police in a raid conducted by teams of detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Vehicle Theft Squad (VTS) who were deployed in Entumbane and Njube suburbs on Tuesday.

She is part of 11 suspects who are in police custody on charges of dealing in dangerous drugs such as methamphetamine also known as crystal meth as well as dagga.

When detectives raided Mhlanga’s home in Entumbane suburb they found school children, school dropouts and adults engaging in the illegal activities. Among those arrested for taking illicit substances and smoking dagga where a 12-year-old girl doing Grade 7 at a local primary school, a 14-year-old boy who is in Form Two, and an 18-year old female in Form three.

Another school dropout aged 17 years old from Entumbane and a 17-year-old in Form Three was also nabbed.

Ronald Makuvaza (22), Karren Mhlanga (18), Gerald Phiri (19), all from Entumbane, and McDonald Mhlanga (22) of Emganwini were also arrested. The arrested juveniles were handed over to the custody of their parents and guardians pending over a process to hand them over to the Bulawayo Province Victim Friendly Unit (VFU).
The drug dealer is expected in court on Thursday.
