MOUNT Nyanga is fast transforming into one of Zimbabwe’s most sought-after religious tourism destinations, with the majestic mountain drawing increasing numbers of faith-based travellers seeking spiritual renewal, healing and prayer retreats.

The latest sign of this growing trend was witnessed on Monday when a delegation of international buyers attending the 2025 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo and other tourists toured the mountain as part of a familiarisation programme organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).

The buyers expressed surprise and admiration at the mountain’s spiritual atmosphere and potential for religious tourism.

” Mount Nyanga is not just about scenery — it’s about soul. Religious tourism is on the rise globally and Zimbabwe is positioning itself as a destination for faith-based travel,” Netherlands, tourists Charles Lycklama said.

Many regard the mountain as a sacred place where divine encounters and healing can occur.

“People are coming from all over the country and beyond to pray here. We’ve witnessed miracles, healings, and testimonies. This mountain is blessed,” said local tour guard Frank Muzimba.

As Zimbabwe continues to expand its tourism horizons, Mount Nyanga’s rising spiritual significance stands as a powerful testament to the country’s unique blend of natural beauty, faith and cultural heritage.
