Under-20 football finals are providing a platform for the province’s best schools to compete for the honour of representing Bulawayo at the national championships.

Speaking during the provincial finals at Gifford High School on Thursday, Mr Dube said the winning school from the 12-team tournament will represent Bulawayo Metropolitan Province at the NASH national finals scheduled for September in Harare.

He said the provincial finals have attracted some of the top secondary school football teams in Bulawayo, with each side determined to book a place at the national competition.

Eastview High School is hosting the tournament on behalf of Imbizo District, while Magwegwe High School entered the competition as the defending provincial champions.

Mr Dube said the tournament continues to play a key role in identifying and nurturing young football talent while promoting discipline, teamwork and healthy competition among learners.
