He paid tribute to men and women who lost their lives during the Chimurenga/Umvukela and the broader liberation struggle, saying their resistance to colonialism, tribalism and oppression continues to inspire the group’s work.

“We honour our forebears and compatriots who toiled tirelessly for the progress of our country,” reads part of the statement.

The organisation emphasised the need to entrench democracy, good governance, transparency, accountability and the rule of law, while reaffirming its commitment to defending fundamental human rights and freedoms.

Patriotic Vendors4ED said it cherishes values of freedom, equality, peace, justice, tolerance, prosperity and patriotism, and acknowledged “the supremacy of Almighty God, in whose hands our future lies.”

The group called on citizens to promote unity and instil an industrial mindset and spirit of innovation in young people.

It urged Zimbabweans to rally behind Vision 2030, “Towards a Prosperous and Empowered Upper Middle-Income Society by 2030”, and to support national development efforts under the Second Republic led by President Mnangagwa.

Citing ongoing infrastructure modernisation, transformative development projects and citizen empowerment initiatives, the organisation said the leadership continues to “lead by example.”

“Let us unite in building our nation. Happy 46th Independence Day, Zimbabwe,” the statement said.
