THE main auditorium at the Gymkhana Events and Conference Centre in Masvingo has been transformed into a sea of colour, song and dance as participants at the 19th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe World Tourism Expo celebrate Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.

Excitement swept through the auditorium this morning as delegates, exhibitors, tourism operators and visitors broke into song and dance, setting an energetic tone for the country’s premier tourism showcase.

The vibrant spectacle reflects the spirit of Sanganai, with participants proudly showcasing Zimbabwean culture while forging new business and tourism linkages.

Many participants are clad in specially designed Sanganai T-shirts emblazoned with some of the country’s most iconic tourism attractions, including the dramatic Chilojo Cliffs, the majestic Great Zimbabwe Ruins and the Big Five.

Others complemented the branded shirts with colourful national fabric, adding to the carnival-like atmosphere inside the auditorium.

The rhythmic beat of traditional music reverberates across the venue, drawing participants together as they sing, dance and celebrate the diversity of Zimbabwe’s tourism offering.

The scenes underscore the growing role of Sanganai not only as a platform for business-to-business engagements, but also as a showcase of the country’s cultural identity, heritage and hospitality.

The 19th edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe, running from today to Friday, is expected to further position Zimbabwe as a competitive tourism destination while opening opportunities for investment and stronger partnerships across the sector.
