NEW Zealand Test cricket captain Mitchell Santner has showered praise on Zimbabwe’s hospitality, describing it as “outstanding” and a major highlight of their month-long tour.

The Black Caps, who have been in the country for close to a month, took part in a thrilling T20I triangular series in Harare alongside South Africa and Zimbabwe, before going on to clinch a two-match Test series against the Chevrons at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Reflecting on their stay, Santner said the warm reception and rich experiences off the field had played a key role in the team’s enjoyment and performance.

“It has been outstanding,” he said. “The boys really loved it, starting with Harare, playing golf and having a safari along the way. The hospitality helped us to cool off and it greatly impacted our performance here, so it has been lovely.”

From the vibrant atmosphere of Harare to the serene golf courses and unforgettable safari experiences, Santner said Zimbabwe had offered much more than just competitive cricket.

New Zealand skipper’s comments add to growing international recognition of Zimbabwe’s tourism and hospitality sector, which continues to charm visiting sports teams and tourists alike.
