ZIMBABWE’S sprint sensation Methembe Tshuma has booked his spot in the 200m final at the African Junior Championships in Nigeria after a blistering run in the semi-finals.

The Sobukazi High School student stormed home in 21.28 seconds to claim second place and power into his second final of the competition.

Running from lane seven, Tshuma exploded off the blocks, taking control on the bend before digging deep in the home straight to secure a dramatic photo-finish qualification.

This comes hot on the heels of his seventh-place finish in the 100m final on Friday morning. With a bronze already secured by Team Zimbabwe, all eyes are now on Tshuma and company as they hunt for more medals on Saturday evening.
