A PLUMTREE woman is appealing for information following the theft of her cellphone while shopping at a retail outlet in the town’s central business district earlier this month.
Miss Tinotenda Moyo said her itel A04 smartphone went missing on June 13 at around 3pm while she was purchasing vegetables at Farmlife Shop, located at the 4Jays Complex along Tekwane Road.
The matter is now under police investigation, with CCTV footage from the shop having been handed over to law enforcement authorities.

Miss Moyo said she only realised that her phone was missing after leaving the counter.
“I forgot my phone on the counter while I was buying tomatoes at Farmlife. After realising my phone was missing, I became so stressed. I later remembered to approach the shop and told them I had forgotten my phone on the counter. I was referred to the management, who insisted that the CCTV footage could assist. However, they could only release it after the matter had been reported to the police,” she explained.
She said she subsequently reported the matter to the police.
“I reported the matter two days later at Plumtree Police. They then checked the CCTV cameras, and we noticed the suspect,” Miss Moyo added.
According to information provided by the shop, CCTV footage was reviewed following the police report and has since been made available to investigators to assist with inquiries.
No arrests had been made at the time of publication.
Police investigations are continuing, and members of the public with information that may assist in the case are encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
