Water situation set to improve

The Harare City Council yesterday repaired the major pumps that burst after a Zesa transformer blew up at Morton Jaffray, causing flooding.

Council spokesperson, Mr Leslie Gwindi, yesterday said they had made progress in repairing the burst pipes.
“There was a lot of work involved in repairing the pipes and progress so far has been very good,” Mr Gwindi said.

“We should be back on line anytime from now but it will take time for the water to get to other areas because we will have to fill the pipes first. Water is likely to get to other areas around midmorning or around lunch time.”
