ALL suburbs in Bulawayo will be without water for three days between Monday and Wednesday due to electrical maintenance works at Ncema and Fernhill, which affect the pumping of water to the city.

Industries and the city centre are exempted from the interruptions.

In a statement, Bulawayo Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube, said the current water shedding is suspended starting today (18 March) until work resumes.

“To protect the supply and distribution reservoirs from collapsing, the City of Bulawayo will temporarily suspend the current water shedding programme and cut off supply to all residential areas with effect from Monday 18 March 2024 to Tuesday 19 March 2024. Supplies are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, 20th March 2024 after pumping and stabilisation of reservoirs,” he said.

Mr Dube urged residents to conserve water.

“The City of Bulawayo wishes to apologise to its valued consumers for the inconvenience caused by the erratic water supplies. Water is life. Save every drop,” said the Town Clerk.
