adminMaureen Mparadzi, his co-worker was on her way to deposit US$412 000. Mbano yesterday appeared before Mr Donald Ndirowei who remanded him in custody to June 3.
He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court due to the gravity of the offence. Mparadzi, it is alleged, arrived at the bank at midday and disembarked from her vehicle while carrying a travelling bag which contained the money.
She walked towards the entrance but before she could enter the banking hall, Mbano’s accomplices who were armed with a pistol allegedly pounced on her and snatched the bag.
They quickly jumped into their getaway vehicle which had South African registration numbers. Mparadzi made a report to the police and investigations led to the arrest of Mbano.
