Hello cool teens! I hope I find you well. Have you ever been stuck in a situation where you feel small? You do not even have the guts to air your views. It might be in class, church or at any gathering. Although a number of factors are responsible for that problem, the lack of confidence plays the major role too.
Confidence is a vital resource in our everyday life and today, cool teens, we are going to look at ways on how you can boost your confidence.
Some of the factors that affect our self confidence are beyond our control. However, there are a number of things that an individual can do about it.
Appearance
One’s physical appearance is the number one aspect to consider when improving or boosting your self esteem.
Bathing and shaving frequently are some of the ways of treating your body. A little bit of exercise will also do justice to you, so make time for gym or even taking a light jog. Wearing the right clothes that suit your body will help a great deal in improving your appearance. If your appearance is on point, then it’s most likely that your confidence level will rise.
Posture
Do you know that you can tell if a person is having stage fright by the way he/she is standing, or sitting? Body postures play a significant role in boosting one’s self confidence. Carry yourself with confidence and everyone else will believe that you are confident for real. The next time you find yourself giving a speech or in public, stand up straight with your head up and make eye contact with the audience.
Perfection is overrated
Trying to be perfect can contribute to low self confidence because most of the time it is not attainable.
The moment you try to be perfect in the eyes of people, your mind will start to set some limitations on your desired goals. At the end of the
day, you will put half the effort in a task as you will be avoiding mistakes.
Mistakes and failures are healthy and they will make you a stronger individual. So do not hold yourself back, give it all you have and if you fall, dust yourself up and try again.
Be yourself, everyone else is taken
Comparing yourself to others is a major confidence killer. My classmate has a nice car but I don’t have one. This does not make me any less of a person because I am my own person. I come from a different back ground and right now I am working towards fulfilling my destiny.
That negative sentiment should be erased because it can stunt your confidence growth.
The only person who can offer you stiff competition is yourself. Aim to improve on your previous success and do better than you did last time.
Believe in yourself
Always think positive about yourself. Don’t tolerate self pity or pity from others.
Identify yourself and your talents. Take pride in them and use them to your advantage. Never underestimate your capabilities, no matter how small they are. In fact, there is no such thing as small talent, every talent is important somehow. As long as you believe in yourself, you can do more than you can imagine.
So in conclusion, you need to know that this process of boosting self confidence does not happen overnight. It is a gradual process which is accompanied by trial and errors. Its takes time hence the saying; Rome wasn’t built in a day.
So teens, stay cool, be cool forever cool.
