TAKE a bow Zimbabwe!

We are the 2023 PATWA winners for the Destination of the Year award from the International Tourism Bourse (ITB).

Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu, was named Tourism Minister of the Year for Southern Africa. Zimbabwe Tourism Authority chief executive, Winnie Muchanyuka, was named Best Professional: Destination Management. The awards were held in Berlin, Germany, where various countries and individuals were honoured at the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association Awards.

“Congratulations, makorokoto, amhlophe to our beautiful country Zimbabwe on winning the 2023 PATWA Destination of the Year — Natural Beauty Award at ITB Berlin, Germany,” the ZTA posted.

The PATWA International Travel Awards are handed out once a year.

The awards recognise individuals and organisations who have excelled or are involved in the promotion of tourism from different sectors of the travel trade. Fifteen companies from Zimbabwe participated at this year’s edition. These ranged from safari lodges, air and travel operators.
