We aren’t signing any new players — FC Platinum

chairman, Thadson Zhou, told The Herald that they were not plunging into the market again.
“We are not going to the market when the window opens,” said Zhou.
“We have enough players to bring honours to the club. We already have Joel (Mogorosi), Frank Mambo and Benjamin (Marere).
“The players are good enough and when they gel with the current players then it will be bad news.
“We are on fourth position and we haven’’t done badly so far except losing two games to Highlanders and CAPS United.”
Mogorosi, the Botswana international striker, is set to arrive in Zvishavane within the next two weeks to begin life at FC Platinum after winning the league at home with Madinda Ndlovu’s Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
Mambo is a Zambian international defender who has been with FC Platinum since the beginning of the year.
He will now be registered, in the new window, after having secured his work permit.
Marere, who appeared unsettled at the beginning of the season, has since apologised to the club and the two parties have resolved their differences with the Zimbabwe international forward set to be registered in the new window.
Marere is now training with FC Platinum.
Zhou believes FC Platinum remain on the right path.
“We still have a lot of games to play and I am confident that we are going to fulfill our dream of landing the league title,” said Zhou.
“It is not a secret that we need the championship as well as playing in the Champions’ League next season.”
FC Platinum missed the championship in their maiden year after losing to Dynamos on goal difference.
An FC Platinum triumph would have taken the league title out of Harare for the first time since Independence and only the second time since 1965 when St Paul’s Musami won the premier prize on the domestic football scene.
Given the tragedy that befell the team during the Easter Holidays, when their coach Benjamin Moyo drowned in a swimming pool during camp, FC Platinum did well to fight for the league title until the very last day of the season.
They lured Rahman Gumbo from Botswana to become the new head coach and this season they also brought in Allan Gahadzikwa, Qadr Amin, Cabby Kamhapa, Rowan Nenzou, Ali Sadiki and Michelle Katsvairo.
“We want to bring the championship to Zvishavane for the first time,” said Zhou. FC Platinum is a team for Zvishavane residents and we want them to feel proud.
“The team is not for sale and that is the official position.
“Fans and Zvishavane residents must not panic but instead rally behind the team in our quest to lift the championship.”
There were reports at the weekend, both online and in local newspapers, that the FC Platinum franchise had been sold to Bulawayo businessman, Worthwhile Mugabe.
