Yesterday the Zimbabweans coasted to another four-wicket win over Dubai.
Attish Chouhan top scored with a 36 in a low-scoring game and opening bowler, Andre Odendaal, was the top wicket taker with three wickets for 19 in seven overs.
After recording two victories, Under-19 coach, Chris Harris, believes this is good start for his team in their preparations of the World Cup.
“The boys did well in both the two games which they have played so far, it is a good start as we trying to get them into a strong team for the World Cup.
“We are happy that we had outstanding performances by individuals, Burl and Lake, but the rest of the boys also played well.
“I am happy with the progress but we still have a lot more to do.
“I spoke to Dubai Academy captain and he said some of their players could not make it so I had to give them some of my players, which was a good opportunity for my boys.
“Both teams enjoyed their friendly encounter and they are looking forward to a T20 game tomorrow (today), ” said Harris, the former New Zealand all-rounder.
The T20 will be played at Old Hararians Sports Club and starts at 9am today.
Zimbabwe Cricket is expected to announce the Under-19 squad to represent the country at ICC World Cup today.
