We can win the Covid-19 battle

Life Issues with FGK

LAST week, as I was wondering how and when this ravaging Covid-19 pandemic is going to end, I developed an interest in finding out which other pandemics and outbreaks have been there before.

I discovered that from long back, some have come and ended while others are still in our midst.

But, my question, rather concern, is what will become of the current coronavirus pandemic?

Will it end or it is something that we will live with forever?

I guess only time will tell!

The pandemic started spreading early last year and appears not to be stopping. In fact, new and deadly variants are emerging with each passing moment.

New infection and death cases due to the virus continue to be recorded though the going vaccination programme is helping make the effects a little less.

However, the public is scared.

No family has been spared as we are all being affected by coronavirus and its resulting effects.

My advice though is do not panic.

We all just need to stay safe by adhering to Covid-19 protocols as prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Child Care together with the World Health organisation (WHO).

Be wary of some tips or information that is often spread on unofficial news channels and social media. Most of the information is misleading and mean to cause panic and despondence.

It is always best to search for news updates or data pertaining to the virus on official news channels as they always communicate verified facts.

For instance, we have many sources that are recommending different types of home remedies to either prevent or deal with Covid-19. However, it has been proven that most of the information is wrong.

When someone recommends a remedy, pass it through certified health professionals before endangering yourself.

With what is happening around us, we are left with no choice, but to be our neighbour’s keeper. Frequently check on each other. Also, let us educate one another, but with verified information.

The pandemic may have been around for over a year but there are several people that still have little knowledge about it.

And it is such people that we must assist with useful information so that we break the spread chain.

Wearing a face mask or staying at home is not a punishment, or for the police. They are part of measures meant to keep you and others safe.

Best testimonies about coronavirus often come from survivors. They can through virtual platforms share crucial details on fighting the virus.

In conclusion, we must make sure that victims have enough medication, moral support and lots of love from us. Love heals and gives hope.

Quote of the week: Best testimonies about coronavirus often come from survivors.
