AMAZULU team manager Japhet Zwane says his team misses their inspirational captain Tapuwa Kapini who was injured three weeks ago.The former Warriors goalkeeper is due to go under the surgeon’s knife.

The goalkeeper has been hit hard by a series of injuries at AmaZulu whom he joined from Platinum Stars.

According to the manager, Kapini wasn’t involved in any football activity when he felt pain. It was when he went to the physiotherapist for a check up that they established he had a problem with his arm.

Zwane told Chronicle Sport: “We really miss our captain and it’s a pity for him as throughout the season he has been in and out due to injuries but he is mature, he understands that this is part of the game.

“The Zimbabwean goalkeeper has helped us a lot in the team that is why he is our captain. We miss his leadership qualities.”

AmaZulu have had a fair run and are in the top eight bracket.

Zimbabwean Carlington Nyadombo is wearing the captain’s arm band in Kapini’s absence.
