We need to find a solution: Kelvin Kaindu

WINLESS in their last six Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches they have played between May and June, Highlanders will be hoping to finally get it right when they play host to bottom-placed Hwange at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

Bosso will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways against Chipangano having gone on a poor run of form. The Bulawayo football giants mentor,Kelvin Kaindu, has in that regard reckoned that they will need to quickly find a solution.

The two teams will go into Sunday’s game at the back of contrasting fortunes. Bosso were held to their fifth draw since May 1 by new boys, Bikita Minerals in a match that ended one all on Sunday. Prior to the win over Greenfuel, Chipangano had won only one match against Yadah Stars in the first fixture of the 2024 campaign, which was then followed by a terrible run of five draws and eight losses.

In May, Highlanders settled for four draws, three of them being 1-1 all draws against Green fuel, Manica Diamonds and ZPC Kariba while the Bulawayo derby against Arenel Movers ended goalless. The other game against FC Platinum ended in a 2-0 defeat, meaning they collected a paltry four points from a possible 15.

“It has not been a good phase. We need to find a solution to get out of this phase. Hwange have not been doing well, but they are coming from a victory. When they are playing Highlanders, they are a team that is not predictable. It’s not going to be easy given a majority of the guys who play in that team are from this region.

It’s not going to be easy. We need to maintain the ability for us to improve on our conversion rate,” said Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu.
