A FAMILY in Chigodora is up in arms with one of its members for allegedly possessing goblins that she obtained from Chipinge some years back.
The goblins are said to have been causing havoc and distress among the Rwanga family under Headman Chigodora’s area.
The woman, Grace Rwanga, together with her undisclosed partners who allegedly jointly acquired the goblins were ordered to team up with the other Rwangas and consult traditional healers over the issue.
The matter was heard at Headman Chigodora’s court recently.
The Rwanga family claims that the goblins are responsible for several misfortunes, such as illnesses, deaths, and crop failures haunting them.
As a result, Grace’s 13-year-old granddaughter is manifesting and demanding the casting out of one of the goblins from her.
The goblins claim that they are money-making and wealth-enhancing goblins.
“You collected me in Chipinge years back, together with your daughter, Jane and two other women from the Rwanga family.
“When you acquired me, you also acquired lightning to strike anyone who wrongs you. As a result, a good number of people were struck by lightning in your family. We all know who is behind this. Your daughter, Jane is bedridden. Who do you think is responsible for her ailment? It is me,” declared the alleged goblin.
Grace vehemently denied the allegations, pleading her innocence.
“I have nine children, and all of them are all grown up. I have never been accused of anything bad and what this child is saying is shocking. I am not a witch and I have never been to Chipinge.
“These blatant lies shocked me. Yes, like what she said, my daughter Jane is currently not feeling well.
“They said she had complications while giving birth and as a result, her kidneys are failing. She has not been well for some time, but it is unfounded to say she was struck by lightning,” said the woman.
However, this further infuriated the alleged goblin that was manifesting on the girl, and it threatening to kill the elderly woman if she continued denying the allegations.
“Do not dare me. I will instantly kill you so that everyone knows the truth. Remove me from this girl. We are your goblins, yet you are refusing to accept the truth.
“You also have a python at your home. We can go there from here today and expose it. I know where you have hidden it,” said the goblin.
The goblin further claimed that Grace killed her first and second husbands, all of whom were from the Rwanga family.
However, Gogo Rwanga revealed that her first husband died from tuberculosis, while her second husband died from a sexually transmitted disease.
“When my first husband died, family members accused me of killing him, and we consulted a traditional healer who exonerated me of any wrongdoing. After that my late husband’s brother inherited me as his wife.
“He later died as well. It was revealed that he had wounds on his private parts and that he had a sexually transmitted disease. Despite all this, the family insisted that I had killed him as well. I do not know why they hate me so much, maybe it is bad luck.
“It haunts me and I also need help. How can I be accused of killing people whose post-mortem results confirmed the actual cause of death?” said the woman.
Headman Chigodora referred the matter to Acting Chief Zimunya’s court for further management.
