I met my husband . . . in April 2016 through a cousin of mine. It was basically love at first sight.

How did he propose . . . It happened during a lunch date at Banff Lodge in Bulawayo. I was dumbstruck but said yes after a couple of minutes.

How did you break the news to your family and friends?

I told my cousin who then told my parents. Both families came together and discussed traditional formalities. He then paid bride price on December 30, 2017.

Did you face any challenges preparing for the wedding?

Definitely because of the cost of living in Zimbabwe which went up during that time of the year. Service providers wanted payment in United States dollars only, which made it quite challenging for us. But, with God’s grace, we pulled through.

We chose . . . Mpala Events Conference and Centre in Bulawayo for our wedding ceremony because we liked the place. It was beautiful for an evening wedding which we planned on having and was also a central venue.

Wedding colours were . . . peach with a touch of navy blue and gold.

Wedding dress . . . was imported from Belgium.

The bridal team . . . was made up of friends, cousins and colleagues.

The cake . . . was a three-tier baked by my aunt in South Africa.

My favourite part of the wedding . . . was the ceremony.

The most touching speech . . . were the words of inspiration from our presiding officer, Rev Chiwara
What was on the menu? . . Jollof rice, potatoes baked in creamy cheese, roast chicken, beef stew, green salad and vegetables in seasoning.

Guest list . . . over 250 people.

Photography and filming was provided by . . . Go Real Photography.

Entertainment was provided by . . . Qeqe Mntambo and Jam Sessions, bridal team and DJ Flawless.

After party . . . was held at New Magwegwe.

Budget . . . US$10 000.
