WEDDING OF THE YEAR: TWELVE MONTHS LATER

WE dubbed it the WEDDING OF THE YEAR and we were dead right.

There were 250 guests, including 200 who were flown in from the UK, when Jenifer Marawa and John Sitima tied the knot on the exotic Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

The 250 guests were family members and their business colleagues from Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia.

The couple said theirs was a beautiful love story and they were happy that people came to celebrate with them.

On Saturday, the clock marked ONE year since the WEDDING OF THE YEAR.

One year later, we relive that wedding on held on the coast of the Mediterranean, how the couple were so excited about it and how they chose to exclusively speak to H-Metro.

They told us that they were so excited and honoured by all the guests who sacrificed to leave their jobs, beautiful homes and commitments and fly to Cyprus to share the special day with them.

The couple said they chose Cyprus because they love the Mediterranean lifestyle there, they love the food here.

And, more importantly, they consider it their second home because they have villas on that island.

They said they wanted their family and friends to experience the beauty of Cyprus, take a tour and just relax by the beach as they soaked in the Mediterranean.

They revealed that the 250 guests were their family members and business colleagues from Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia.

The couple said they felt honoured and felt like crying from that outpouring of support.

Then, there was the MC, Maimba Mapuraga, who was flown from Zimbabwe to Cyprus for the wedding ceremony.

“I have always called myself an International Master of Ceremonies. I have always made sure I affirm myself first before anyone chooses to,” he said.

“From High School, I have always been aware of God’s calling in my life regarding his gift that He gave me and where it would take me.

“Over the years, it has taken me to the States, the UK, Dubai (almost took me to Australia and will still do) and many African countries.

“For me , every gig is another stage to shine and secure the next bag, I pray I get, at least, five jobs from these guests.

“Be the maverick of your trade and business, be the rockstar because no one is going to make you one.”
