Monday

THE 2025 Ordinary Level results produced the highest pass rate since independence in 1980, Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Dr Torerayi Moyo, has said. In an interview, Dr Moyo congratulated the 2025 O Level candidates and their teachers for achieving a historic 35,26 percent pass rate, an improvement from 33,19 percent recorded in 2024.

Tuesday

COVENANT bonds must be honoured and treated with utmost seriousness as they represent the highest form of commitment and trust, President Mnangagwa has said. 

Speaking in a recent interview with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC), the President cited his own liberation war pact with the late Cde Stephen Zvinavashe as a lifelong obligation he faithfully upheld.

He said the covenant he entered with the late nationalist in the liberation struggle was not symbolic, but a binding agreement that shaped his sense of duty, loyalty and responsibility beyond the battlefield.

Cde Zvinavashe was the elder brother to the late national hero and former Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Vitalis Musungwa Gava Zvinavashe.

Wednesday

Government is set to issue title deeds to over 13 000 A2 farmers whose land has been surveyed, marking a major step in strengthening security of tenure under the Land Reform Programme.

The land tenure system, which was officially launched by President Mnangagwa on December 28, 2024, is expected to grant full ownership rights to beneficiaries, covering about 23 000 A2 farmers and 280 000 A1 farmers nationwide.

Thursday

MORE than ZiG14 billion (US$518 million) will be disbursed to local authorities this year under the devolution and decentralisation programme, bringing national spending on devolution to 4.83 percent of total Government revenue.

Friday

President Mnangagwa yesterday temporarily broke his annual leave to lead a high-level coordination of Zimbabwe’s response to domestic and sub-regional rainfall-induced disasters that have hit parts of the country, Mozambique and Malawi.

In this regard, Zimbabwe is sending emergency food assistance and deploying a pair of air rescue helicopters to Mozambique.
