Welcome to the village, home to ethos, values

women are respected, single or married, and there, being single must never be mistaken for being loose, for there are too many factors at play.
There are rare characters who at times, lead to unnecessary stigmatisation of single mothers. These are the village idiots, whose behaviour is akin to fouling the communal well, from where everyone drinks.

There, sex is not a spectator sport. No one sits on the terraces to watch.
So, watching men drool over a woman’s body with whom they have no personal, let alone emotional connection with, whatsoever, is not only taboo, but sickening.
It makes village elders barf, for they ennoble a woman’s body. A woman’s body is the harbinger of life and life itself.
But this villager understands that in the yonder western world, where morality has its own bizarre, unthinkable and intolerable meaning, spoof is acceptable, even before those who sired you.

So our burlesque ambassador Jacqueline Zwambila, perhaps adopting the culture of her hosts but earning rebuke from home, is finally being recalled after allegations that she has not upheld Zimbabwe’s image.
The village soothsayer, that ageless fountain of knowledge and wisdom has been vindicated for predicting correctly that this sister who did “mashura padunhu” where we had sent her, would certainly be recalled.

This villager remembers the soothsayer saying: “A woman who brings home a maggot infested log must not be surprised when lizards start visiting her.”
The sister smuggled to the Inclusive Government of Zimbabwe by none other than the party of sexcellence, lived true to the billing of her party, for in the village, charity begins at home.
Whatever you do, wherever you are, reflects on your home.

After all that has been said and heard about Zwambila, it will be quite interesting to see the woman being whipped back in by authorities whom we must applaud for having taken the correct decision.
No amount of cosmetics can beautify a frog, so they say in the village. When a daughter, is recalled for misbehaving at the in-laws, the elders proclaim: “mwana anyadzisa uyu.” It’s quite a spectacle.
But it equally promises to be a hell of experience if, she resists marching orders from our foreign affairs. How will the authorities touch her? This villager fears more skirts will go up, now that the end is nigh.

And if they forcefully succeed how will her co-passengers flying with her past intermittent boggy marshes, picturesque snowy mountains, and silver clouds right up to Harare International Airport, look at her?
The naked truth

Yet the stark reality is that she is a shame, and a shame to the party that sent her. A shame to Zimbabwe, the beautiful land of Munhumutapa, a shame to every woman of substance and an insult to motherhood!
Remember the allegations by Felix Machiridza, a man she took from the land of milk, honey and dust, and now claims she tried to make a sex toy out of him?

The innocent family man must have gone through a lot of post indecent exposure traumatic disorder.
But Machiridza is no Zulu boy, ask JZ. The story could have been different, this villager believes.
Only two weeks ago, this villager came across an article from Canberra Times, a newspaper from the land of the Kangaroos, which claimed that Zwambila was using her personal funds to run the

embassy there because “Mugabe’s Government has not paid workers for six months.”
The story entitled “Zimbabwean diplomat ‘propping up’ embassy with her own money” written by Louis Andrews, a court reporter, is yet another diplomatic boob for Zwambila.
“Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe hasn’t paid the country’s ambassador to Australia in six months, leaving her to fund diplomatic missions out of her own pocket, her lawyer says.

“And her lawyers say the cash-strapped ambassador is propping up the embassy out of her own pocket – with the help of a confidential settlement from News Limited, who republished the claims (her alleged stripping in Australia).

“According to an affidavit to the court from Ms Zwambila’s Canberra-based solicitor, Ben Aulich, Mr Mugabe has not paid the ambassador’s wages in six months.”
So what kind of ambassador would wash his country’s dirty linen in public, suppose it is true that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been struggling to pay.

Worse still, Zimbabwe is under sanctions imported to this country by Zwambila’s party.
Zwambila herself has refused to accept that there are sanctions on Zimbabwe and where does the money come from?
For her this is a case of denial and confusion. This is a case of a revolution eating its own child.

Lessons, Lessons are stubborn
MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai must rue the day he nominated Zwambila, for she has proved never the ambassador he thought she would be.
Zwambila came from where, if this villager might ask MDC-T.

There is a vast difference between Government and opposition politics. There is a vast difference being a movement of people shepherded by foreigners and being a revolutionary party guided by principles.
Politics is a jungle with all animals. MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai must know which people to go into Government with, especially those who will represent the country far away from the scrutiny of the leadership.

An ambassador represents the ethos, the values, the dignity, the image and the totality of a country and if this is what MDC-T has for us, then God forbid.
If Zwambila was the best candidate the MDC-T had for the job, then, the party lacks depth of character and it is high time the leadership reflects on itself and the people it associates with.
Credibility is very important. The villager thinks MDC-T must apologise to the nation for failing our diplomacy. The village soothsayer has no kind words for Zwambila.
“There are better qualified women who could have done better for Zimbabwe. There are single mothers, who have done extremely well, in their lives and are stigmatised by such people, like Zwambila.”
