LONDON. — Arsene Wenger told Arsenal fans “see you next season” after signing off this campaign at the Emirates with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. The Frenchman has yet to sign a new contract at the club, but gave his clearest indication yet that he will stay at Arsenal beyond the FA Cup final on May 17. Wenger said he had “no doubts” about continuing his 17-year tenure as Arsenal manager but admitted it was “important” that the club have secured the chance to play in next season’s Champions League.
The Arsenal boss said: “Will I be back next season? Yes. You will see me again. I don’t know (when I will sign a new deal), but I told you many times that my word is my word. I am from a period where you did not need a pen to commit. It is not linked (with success or failure in the FA Cup final) at all. It was important to be in the Champions League, that is for sure.” — Mailonline.
