Wenger to give Sanchez a break

LONDON. – Alexis Sanchez will be given a mid-season break to stop the Arsenal forward from suffering burnout. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger plans to take Sanchez out of the firing line in the next few weeks to help the Chilean recharge his batteries. Wenger, already hit by a crippling injury list, fears that returning early after the Copa America in the summer will catch up with Sanchez before the end of the campaign.

Sanchez did not have a proper summer holiday or rest and Wenger is concerned one of his most important players could be vulnerable to injury. Arsenal have made a strong start to the campaign despite a host of injuries but Wenger is hoping for some good news for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The England midfielder is expected to be fit to play at West Brom straight after the international break while Hector Bellerin could also return after a groin problem. Aaron Ramsey and Theo Walcott are facing lengthier spells on the sidelines after muscle injuries which is something Wenger wants to prevent with Sanchez. – The Mirror.
