LONDON. — Arsene Wenger has reiterated that his new contract should be “sorted soon” as speculation mounted over his future yesterday with reports that Monaco had offered him £10 million-a-year to manage them.
But Wenger, in an interview with Eurosport at the weekend, said he would be signing a new contract with Arsenal to extend his 18-year stay at the club. In French, Wenger said: “(The contact at Arsenal) is not totally done but it should be sorted soon.”

And Monaco already appear set to appoint Benfica’s Jorge Jesus as their next coach. The cash-rich French club are on the verge of sacking former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri after three years in charge and are believed to have already met with Jesus in Lisbon on Friday.

Jesus is now expected to sign a two-year deal which could be announced after Benfica face Seville in the Europa League Final and then Rio Ave in the final of the Portuguese Cup next Sunday.

By then Arsenal will hope that Wenger has led them to an FA Cup Final victory over Hull City at Wembley on Saturday which will end the club’s nine-year wait for a trophy. — The Telegraph.
