THE Xtra Large duo of Jimmy “Swagga Jim” Mangezi and Norman “Likkle N” Manwere said it is happy with the response it is getting after releasing a 10-track album titled Abnormal Load.

On this album they collaborated with musicians like Jah Prayzah, Maskiri, Ba Shupi, Sanii Makhalima and Roki.

In an interview, Swagga Jim said they were humbled by the response they were getting from fans and the fair share of airplay they are getting from all local radio stations.

“We last released an album five years ago, we have been releasing singles over the past years.

“The album has been received very well by both our long serving fans and a new fan base, since the current generation is a totally different breed of fans.

“We did tracks which accommodate all generations, for example the song Bluetick featuring Sanii Makhalima, targets the people who were born after 2000.

“The song is currently doing well on local radio stations.

“This time we engaged several artists on this album and we won the hearts of many,” he said.

Xtra Large’s latest album carries 10 tracks – Maskobodo, featuring Jah Prayzah, Bluetick featuring Sanii Makhalima, Chihwiriri ft Roki, Makandidzidzisa Ku Cheater ft Shashl, Maonde ft Jeldous and Djozi from Burkina Faso, Mavato, Zino Irema ft Soulful Leah, Cake ft Nembo Bouy, Yolo ft Sharex, Budget featuring Ba Shupi and Maskiri complete the album.

Swagga Jim told this publication they have gone digital in terms of marketing their music.

“We have also adapted to the new ways of distributing our music to the people, the album is available on several digital platforms, including on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack, Deezer, Tik Tok, YouTube and Facebook, among others.

“Our plans for this festive season is to reach out to all our fans locally and in the diaspora.

“We also want to hold a series of live shows and we have embarked on a tour dubbed Abnormal Load Tour, where we are taking the album to the people.

“So far, we have been in South Africa, we have upcoming shows lined up for Beitbridge, Bulawayo, Mutare, Kwekwe, Chinhoyi, Marondera, Bindura, Masvingo, Gokwe and Kariba.

“We are currently talking to promoters who are in United Kingdom, Canada and Australia,” he said.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Likkle N.

“Well, as Xtra Large we would want people to know that everything starts as a dream, as an idea, so don’t be afraid to chase your dreams and you can only fail if you attempt.

“To all the people who are out there, who are trying to gain likes and followers by pulling others down, you should always remember that you are killing the future.

“Let’s stand together, united and our country will go far, support your own,” he said.
