when his troops line up against title-chasing FC Platinum at Rufaro tomorrow afternoon.
The Premiership newboys square off in a match where they are on contrasting missions.
After securing promotion into the Big Boys’ club this season, FC Platinum have moved into the league title race while Blue Ribbon are enjoying mid-table life and are eyeing a top eight finish.
Chidzambwa is eager to end the season in the top eight, a position that will see his employers activate a bonus clause in his contract, and also push the team into a position to play in the BancABC Sup8r.
But Platinum will not be coming along for a ride as they have higher ambitions of winning the league in their maiden PSL season.
Yesterday, Chidzambwa said he was only concerned by his team’s performance and not bothered by the bearing of the match on other teams.
“We are concentrating on our camp. And if Dynamos or any other team benefit, well that’s it.
“Our chances are slim against them. They are the log leaders (joint with Motor Action) and we will go into this match as underdogs.
“But the better team of the day will win it,” said Chidzambwa.

The Tambawakaguta Boys are high on confidence after they hammered Masvingo United 4-0 at Ascot in the Mbada Diamonds Cup first round.
Platinum are also coming into this crucial match with a positive frame of mind, having edged Black Mambas 1-0 in the Mbada Diamonds Cup last weekend.
While the victory against the police side saw Platinum returning to winning ways, a league win is still elusive.
In the last five league games, Kugona Kunenge Kudada have only managed four draws and a defeat.
And it appears the technical department, led by Gumbo and his assistant Tendai Chikuni, are feeling the heat that comes with chasing the title and are ducking the media pre-match interviews.
Ironically, both teams have not won a league match in the last two months with the last win coming on the same day, on July 31, when Blue Ribbon beat Dynamos 1-0 while Platinum beat Hwange 2-0.
It has been a similar tale of four draws and a defeat in the league for the duo in the last 450 minutes of Premiership.
Chidzambwa believes his players’ morale is high after a fine outing at Ascot last Sunday.
“Obviously the players are motivated after winning in the Mbada Cup. They have been losing and drawing in the league and a win boosts confidence.
“We want to finish in the top eight,” said Chidzambwa.
Blue Ribbon saw the merits of being in the top rung last week when they were seeded and did not go into the hat of the Cup draw, avoiding the so called big teams.
Blue Ribbon would be looking for inspiration from midfielder Erea Phiri and forwards Talent Munetsi and leading scorer Tinei Chitora.
However, it will not be a stroll in the park. In last weekend’s Cup victory Platinum got a goal from midfielder Menard Mupera, who scored from the penalty spot.
Soccer Star of the Year Charles Sibanda last scored in a winning cause against Hwange while Donald Ngoma and newboy Willard Manondo were on target when the team shared spoils with CAPS United and Chicken Inn respectively.
