FOUR young students are appealing for financial support to expand their business of molding plastic bricks.
The students are Prosper Makoni, Francis Makoni, Godknows Aresho from the University of Zambia and Mike Lungu who is studying in Zambia.
The four make up the African Inspired Entrepreneurial Youths, who believe their eco-friendly technology could sustainably reduce and manage plastic waste while creating employment opportunities.
The group has raised US$5000, but needs US$18 000 for equipment a company registration.
With the required machinery, they say they could make about 3 000 to 5 000 plastic bricks per day.
Lungu said their business could create employment for more than 70 people.
“We want to make money and at the same time create employment.
“That is why we have innovatively decided to implement a contemporary way of making bricks out of plastics.
“This is very vital idea which solves environmental problems, degradation and financial challenges because plastic bricks are cheaper,” said Lungu.
He said they wanted to make a significant difference in the construction industry by delivering high level services.
