Quite recently my cellphone started misbehaving in terms of power. I would charge it to hundred percent and before midday, it will be on red zone.
Even during the night when data is switched off and flight mode is engaged, it would still outrageously consume power. As humbly as I could ever be, I sought the help of my son.
He identified the problem in seconds; my phone was behaving this way because of so many applications I unknowingly left running in the background. All I had to do was go to the recent mode and clear them all.
There are indeed times when we also feel our “batteries” draining so fast that we end up going through the day on automatic mode, with not enough zeal, motivation or inspiration to tackle our goals.
Our spirits too may also feel tired and drained and it will be just a tiresome effort to bring ourselves down in prayer.
In contrast, some may feel energetic and vibrant in tackling their goals but then the results will just be unexplainably weak and wallow.
I suggest you take a good check within; you may be having so many programmes running in the background which are eating into your energy.
These may include addictions of any kind, disempowering habits, unresolved conflicts, some unhealthy thoughts, lust, glutton, gossip, a penchant for following other people’s drama, as well as drastic and catastrophic news, the list goes on.
All these lead you to lack and separateness, and if you remain plugged into them you will not be as powerful and as potent as you should be.
“A cat that dreams of becoming a lion must lose its appetite for rats,” says a certain proverb.
If you want to reach the fullness of what you were created to be, there are definitely some things that you have to let go.
They may not be explicitly bad, but they may be wrong for the kind of person at the level that you will be at.
Is what you are doing, are the habits that stick to you like your second skin ideal for the kind of person you want to be?
If not, then now is the time to unplug yourself from what is weighing you down and from what is feeding from your power and energy.
There are certain kind of people who are termed “everything they touch turn to gold” and there are those whose ventures are always a struggle . . . the difference lies in what those people are plugged into, that’s running in their background.
In essence, our energy is like the rays of the sun; when they are brought into focus through glass, crystal or clear plastic, they can light up a fire but left as scattered as they are all over the place, those rays are quite harmless.
Similarly, when you begin to fast from those things that pull your energy away in different directions, your energy will be more than ten times powerful.
When you concentrate your mind’s tremendous power on definite, meaningful objectives, you will quickly ignite the flames of your personal potential and produce startling results!
Here are a few suggestions in which one can stay focused while avoiding distractions:
Setting clear objectives, Creating a conducive environment to work,
Manage digital distractions through turning off notifications for non-essential applications during your particular work hours,
Leveraging on technology strategically through the utilisation of productivity applications like Todoist, RescueTime, etc to help stay organised and focused,
Establishing boundaries — this include communicating with others, setting clear boundaries with family, friends, and colleagues to protect your focus time and also scheduling focus time in your calendar and treating these as non-negotiable.
Why don’t you begin now to take responsibility over everything that runs within you?
May all the idle applications that do not empower you go! May only the vibrant mindset prevail so that you are what you were truly meant to be!
