Wheelchair tennis players for Kenya

to their rescue after they had struggled to raise enough money for the trip.
The national association, which was facing financial problems last week, indicated that they were failing to raise the money for the trip and were contemplating pulling out of the tournament.
The last-minute withdrawal could have resulted in penalties against WTAZ as they had already been entered for the competition.
The wheelchair tennis mother  body had named a three-member team for the event but they are               now sending Molin Muza and              Dorcas Hwatira after Nyarai Nechiturike was withdrawn due to lack of funds.
The team, which was originally scheduled to leave on Monday, is now expected to head for Kenya this morning.
WTAZ vice president, Olga Chisango, said they appealed to ITF to assist the players.
“I eventually managed to negotiate with the ITF to fund return tickets for two players after pleading our case with them.
“Funding constraints made us cut down on numbers.
“The team can still play with two members.
“The tournament started this morning (yesterday) and after convincing them to fund the trip, I also succeeded in getting them to change the order of play so that our team wouldn’t lose out on missed matches,” said Chisango.
Chisango was confident the players will give a good show.
