When you think it’s over, it’s not

“BUT the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.” — Judges 16:22

Samson, a judge of Israel, was blessed with supernatural strength by God.

According to Judges 13:24-25, “The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson. He grew, and the Lord blessed him, and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him.” As Samson yielded to God’s spirit, he demonstrated incredible strength, defeating the Philistines and accomplishing mighty feats.

With God’s power, he could accomplish what seemed impossible.

However, when Samson compromised his relationship with God, his strength waned as the Philistines gained access to his source of strength — his hair — and shaved it. My dear brothers and sisters, we read in Judges 16:22, “But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.” No matter what we have been through, no matter how broken or defeated we may feel, there is always hope for renewal and restoration.

Just like Samson’s hair grew back, God’s mercies are new every morning.

His love and grace are always available to us and with faith and perseverance, we can overcome any challenge.

When we feel like we have hit rock bottom, God can bring us back up, stronger and more resilient than before.

Our struggles are not the end of our story; we can emerge from those seasons with renewed strength and purpose.

I want to leave you with a message of hope today.  No matter what you are going through, hold on to faith, hold on to hope and know that God is with you.

He can take your brokenness and turn it into beauty, your weakness into strength and your despair into joy.

Let us stand on the promise that better days are ahead, that God is working all things together for our good and that His love and grace are sufficient for every challenge we face.

May His word bring comfort, encouragement and hope to your hearts today.
