THE exclusion of Simba Bhora players was a huge talking point yesterday after Warriors coach Michael Nees announced his squad for the next World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
The Shamva side are leading the domestic Premiership and Nees’ decision to ignore all their players appears to be an insult on the quality of the domestic Premiership. The champions have kept the most number of clean sheets (14) in 26 games.
Central defenders Isheanesu Mauchi and Webster Tafa should, at least, have been considered. The German coach, however, picked some players from the local top-flight league, including four from Scottland.
There was also an expectation that CAPS United’s Tanaka Shandirwa had done enough to return to the Warriors side.Khama Billiat and Marley Tavaziva were excluded as they are nursing injuries.
Andy Rinomhota asked to be excused as he is on the verge of joining a new club.
