Where is Maskiri?

While a man that used to be one of his fiercest rivals, Stunner released yet another album last weekend, many of his fans around Zimbabwe were begging for controversial wordsmith Alishias Musimbe, better known as Maskiri, to release an album of his own.

For most of this year the rapper, who once shook the Zimbabwean music scene at its foundations with his provocative and sometimes outright vulgar lyrics, has been threatening to release another album.

Maskiri, who resurfaces once in a while on social media to make posts that attract hundreds of likes and comments, had set April as the initial date for his comeback album, Break Through.

a�?I am almost done with my next album which is to be launched probably in the UK so come Friday l will be dishing out old and fresh, not yet released material,a�? the rapper said back in March.

However, that promise has not yet come to pass. The project would be the first since his high profile collaboration with Keisha White two years ago, and in the interview he claimed that more high profile collaborations were on the way.
However, last month he appeared to have changed tune, announcing that the album that had been postponed from April to July would now be released at the end August.

That date has come and gone and with his old nemesis Stunner riding on a wave of popularity sparked by his drama with Olinda many fans are asking: a�?Where is Maskiri?a�? .
