Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs are currently the leading title contenders in American Football Conference (AFC) division, with the NFL MVP odds in their favour. Their performances over the years have been consistent and they appeared more dominant in the playoffs in the last eight years. In addition, the Chiefs emerged as Super Bowl champion in the AFC championship for the past six seasons. The Chiefs’ home record has been consistent and they are difficult to beat in their backyard. They have won 21 regular seasons consecutively. Their player, Chris Jones has been a tougher player to face in Chiefs defense. He is a force over the run and pass. Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL as he has strong arms, a great pace and accuracy.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys have emerged as playoff hunters again this season in the NFC east division and they have been consistent as playoffs contenders in recent years. In regular seasons, the Cowboys took four NFC East division titles for the past seven seasons. Currently they hold the second place in the NFC East. However, in the playoffs the Cowboys significantly dropped down as they made it twice in the NFC Championship. In the last five seasons hence they have not made it to the Super Bowl since 1995. In the 2024 season, they came back stronger which gave them higher chances of playing in the playoffs. The Cowboys’ home seemed to be a more tense ground to take them down as they won 20 consecutive games on regular seasons. However Dak Prescott, the Cowboys’ quarterback has become one of the players that has been instrumental in the success of the team due to his accuracy and giant arms. Another player Micah Parsons conquers the backline with his physic, which also makes him a good tackler and cover.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers is made up of a strong squad and has become the top rivals to other clubs as they stand a chance in the NFL playoffs. Their ability to catch up and execute positively has kept them as leaders of their division. Their experienced coaching staff have given them an added advantage over their rivals in recent years and they step up their efforts to play in the playoffs. Key players like Brock Purdy, the 49ers quarterback, have been instrumental in balancing the offense, whereas Nick Bosa significantly holds tight the defense as he puts opposing quarterbacks under fire.
Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens have become more dominant and are title contenders in the playoffs in recent years. Their performance in the regular season has been more impressive as they won three of the AFC North Division titles in the last seven appearances. They made it to the playoffs six times in the last seven years. The Ravens played twice in the AFC Champions Game in the last five seasons hence they failed to participate in the Super Bowl since 2012 which marks a period of twelve years without appearing in Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson significantly stands still as a quarterback in the NFL. He can make big plays with his feet, supported by stronger arms and accuracy. He is a key player for the ravens. Rashod Bateman has speed, agility and strength which entails his wide receiver capabilities and he is a promising talent. Furthermore, the Ravens stand greater chances of appearing in the playoffs as they have been consistent in recent times.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have recently become one of the best contenders in the NFL and they stand a stronger chance of making it to the playoffs. The Eagles won the NFC East division championship two times. They have made four appearances in playoffs for the past four years which significantly highlighted their strengths and capabilities of taking it home against the Kansas City Chiefs who took the Super Bowl against them in 2023 and they are about to make another deep playoffs run this season (2024). Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been the most impressive player to watch in the NFL and Eagles’ offense. The Eagles stand a big chance to make it in the playoffs if they are very consistent.
The Houston Texans
The Houston Texans’ performance significantly dropped in recent years. They show signs of improvement in the current season. In the regular seasons, it has been five years since the Texans failed to compete in playoffs. C.J.Stroud has been an instrumental quarterback who showed great signs and strong capabilities. The Texans will need to put a huge effort, that’s nothing short of a transformation to make it to the playoffs this season.
