WARRIORS star midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi who is reportedly set to return to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns started training with Golden Arrows, a club he was loaned to in the past two seasons.
Mahachi returned to Arrows at the beginning of the 2016 /17 season from Mamelodi Sundowns, having somehow made the same switch from The Brazilians outside the transfer window in 2015.
Sundowns reportedly wrote a letter to Mahachi at the end of the 2016 /2017 season asking him to bounce back.
According to Golden Arrows assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi, the ginger-haired player had started training with them.
a?While we are still talking to Mamelodi Sundowns to have Mahachi play for Golden Arrows in the forthcoming 2017 /2018 season the player just started training with us.A He will continue training with us because at Sundowns we believe he will not be subjected to extensive workouts. We are hopeful that all this will come to a conclusion and the player ends up at Arrows as both clubsa officials are still in discussions,a? said Ncikazi.
Besides Mahachi, who was reportedly being pursued by Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs, Golden Arrows will also be keen to have Bidvest Wits to again release another Zimbabwe international Knox Mutizwa. Mutizwa was loaned by Wits to Abafana Besathende mid last season where he scored a number of crucial goals.
a?We are still monitoring a number of players as we are looking forward to strengthening our strike force. You will remember that Mutizwa was loaned to us by Wits mid last season. So we are still talking to Wits about the playeras future,a? added Ncikazi.
Mutizwa is fresh from the Cosafa Castle Cup contest where he was named Player of the Tournament after producing some top drawer performances for the Sunday Chidzambwa mentored senior national team.
Golden Arrows are also home to former Chicken Inn captain Danny a?Decoa? Phiri who extended his stay at the Absa Premiership side with two more years.
