The Washington DC version featured Whitney in her infamous Superbowl National Anthem performance outfit, while Las Vegas  housed the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” Whitney with purple dress and feathered hair.

The Los Angeles statue donned garb from her movie “The Bodyguard”, and the New York City branch received the statue in the gold gown from a 2009 photo shoot, and was unveiled last week in Times Square.

Rosemary Preta, director of marketing for Midway USA and Merlin Entertainment Group, said these specific points in Houston’s career were chosen because they’re so memorable.

“Mention Whitney Houston’s name and you can almost hear her performance of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ at Super Bowl XXV, her incredibly powerful take on ‘I Will Always Love You’, the soulful ‘I Look to You’ or the catchy hit ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody,’ immediately playing in your head,” she said.

“She was a true and rare talent and we are exceedingly proud to be adding her wax likeness to our attractions in the United States.”

Pat Houston expressed anticipation about the wax immortalisation of her sister-in-law, saying: “We were extremely honoured when Madame Tussauds’ approached us about doing not one, but four figures of Whitney from different points in her 30-year career.
