Who we are as a people created by God

WHILE you read this article. I want you to pause and look around for a while. Take in all the things you see. Imagine their form. How they came to be. You could see a car, imagine its journey from the auto makers manufacturing garage to where it is today. Imagine how it was once just an idea in someone’s mind, then it evolved into a drawing on a paper, then it moved onto a developing and design phase, through the stages until it got to the person that bought it and where you are, you see it today.

Think of a different object that is around you. Think of how it came to be what it is today, what it could be tomorrow. One day in the future, that object could be an important object representing today to the people of the future. Now come back to yourself reading the paper. The impact you have seen of objects developed by other people can be felt by other people because of you and the objects that you have created. This is who we are as a people created by God. We are artistes creating timeless pieces just by existing.

It is impossible for you not to be an artiste of your field. You yourself are an art piece created by God. Look at yourself, you are one of God’s finest art works. Listen to what he says of you in Ephesians.

Ephesians 2 verse 10

For we are God’s own handy work (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, (born anew) that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which he prepared ahead of time) that we should walk in them (living the good life which he prearranged and made ready for us to live).

You are not a product of God delegating to the angels, you are his handy work. Created using His very hands. He went beyond just making you look good, he then recreated you in the spirit to be exactly like Christ. So you are not just a lump of flesh, you are precision created in Heaven and then made to look like Christ through the great miracle of salvation.

After he was done creating you and readying you by empowering you to be like Christ, he then created all that he wanted you to be. The word says, that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us (taking paths which he prepared ahead of time) that we should walk in them. So he planned for you to do great things. But God never violets your element of choice. All people can choose whether they are interested in being what God has destined them to be or they want to be run away sons.

The only constant thing is that we can never escape the consequences of being disobedient to God. So although our path has been set out for us, we must be obedient and trust God with ourselves. Some people think God is out to hurt them. This is very far from the truth. On the contrary, God wants to preserve you. Others think God is holding back from blessing them with things they want because he does not want them to be happy. How can God hold back material things when he gave you Christ? Christ is more valuable to God than whatever you have asked from him. Trust in Him and make a choice to love him and abandon yourself in him and watch your life change.

Negative, or positive, our lives are still an expression of art to those observing it. Adolf Hitler murdered millions of Jews, but he was not less of an artiste to you. He was just a bad artiste because God did not destine him to be what he then chose to be. Mother Theresa fed millions of homeless and destitute people, she too was an artiste impacting the world with the gift God placed in her. She too made a choice to create good art. It is up to the owner of the gift to use it for what he wishes. If you think about it, Hitler had the ability to rally people and have them follow him. Imagine if with the same effort he had run an evangelism programme for Christ, imagine how many millions of evangelist he would have raised, imagine the impact on salvation of souls.

You are an individual with power beyond your imagination, chances are you probably have no idea how powerful you are because you have not pestered God to show you who you truly are. If God showed you who you are, just a small portion of who you are, you would be shocked. Make a choice to spend some time in prayer and ask God to show you who you are, ask him to show you what he has placed inside you. You are his workmanship. Be blessed.
