WITH Zimbabwe Football Association expected to announce Kaitano Tembo as coach of the Warriors after firing Michael Nees Wednesday night, questions have arisen as to possible assistant coaches ahead of the AFCON finals in Morocco.
The association officially announced their decision to terminate Michael Nees without giving much in terms of the future.
But barring any changes, Tembo will take over the Warriors job and lead them at AFCON and possibly for the rebuild, in the aftermath.
“Zifa remains firmly committed to strengthening the technical development programs and ensuring continued progress in all areas of the game in line with its reform and structuring agenda,” said Zifa in a statement.
“Further information regarding the transition process and interim technical arrangements will be communicated in due process.”
Among coaches that could be considered to assist Tembo in the interim are Scottland coach Tonderai Ndiraya who is already in charge of a number of national team players at club level.

Simba Bhora coach Joel Luphahla could also come into the frame while Joey Antipas also has an outside chance of joining the party.

There are however a number of factors at play.
Chances are high that if Tembo position is made official, the experienced coach could also have his own preferences while Zifa will also be looking at their budget and team stability.
