Why sweating is good for you

HELLO gentle readers. I hope I find you all well. In this topic, I have decided to talk about sweating and its effects on the body. Sweating cleanses your body. Various cultures throughout time have embraced this fact as demonstrated by the prevalent uses of sweat lodges, bath houses and steam rooms in numerous traditions. When you sweat, your body undergoes a series of processes that allow for the release of toxins and an increase in metabolism. Sweating is a huge part of exercising and, it’s also a big part of your life regardless of how much or how little time you put in at the gym.

That’s because your body needs to sweat everyday in order to do a number of things. Sweat actually accounts for about 10 percent of the water that your body loses on any given day. In order to understand why your body needs to sweat, though, you need to be aware of the affects that it has on your body.

Sweat is made up mostly of water but also contains minerals, urea, lactic acid, ammonia and sugar. Sweating is your bodies’ way of regulating its temperature. When you run long distances or exercise in hot weather, for example, your muscles exert themselves and your body overheats. Sweating is your body’s way of bringing your temperature back to normal.

Sweating is a great way for you to maintain clean, healthy skin. Your skin is filled with pores that gather dirt and toxins. In order to get both of them out of your system, you need to sweat. Sweat does not actually have an odour, rather your hair and skin follicles can provide a bad odour if your skin and hair are not clean. Sweat is made up of about 95 percent water, so you will not smell simply because you are sweating. Your skin is also your single largest organ, so you need to sweat in order to keep it active.

Sweating is used to keep your body from overheating. When your body temperature becomes too high, you will begin to sweat in order to keep your temperature down. You need to let your body do this in order to avoid heat exhaustion, heat stroke or overheating that causes dizziness and weakness.  You need to sweat in order to keep yourself healthy. Often times, your body will raise its internal temperature when you are sick to help your body return to its normal state.

When you sweat, you breathe faster, your heart works more, your circulation improves and your metabolism accelerates, all in an effort to resume your normal body temperature. Because your circulation is increased during sweating, many of the toxins and impurities are able to exit your body by way of your open skin pores. This is a good reason to exercise to the point of sweating or to sit in a steam room regularly.

Your skin also benefits from sweating. Your skin pores open and any dirt or impurities on the surface layers of the skin have a chance to exit. Sweating regularly, if followed by proper cleansing, will help you to achieve softer and smoother skin. It is believed that the immune system also benefits from sweating. When your body heats up, your body generates more white blood cells. This strengthens your immune system.

Sweating can do a lot of great things for your body, but in order to do it your body needs a good plenty of water. You cannot be dehydrated and expect your body to produce sweat. As a result, your body temperature may rise significantly if you do not take in enough water. You can promote sweating by drinking enough water daily. If you fail to properly balance sweating and hydration, your body may become dehydrated. As a result, your body temperature will increase and your body will have no way to bring it down. This could lead to heat exhaustion, heat stroke and possibly even fainting. Avoid this by hydrating yourself whenever you sweat to make sure that you’re getting fluids back into your body. This will help you maintain a balance that will keep your body going. You can also cause your body to do it even more by working out regularly or hitting the spa or sauna on a regular basis.

Sweating is so important that a single session at the spa can help you burn up to 300 calories! This is because sweating helps you lose weight by burning calories more quickly. The weight that you lose through sweating is water weight. This weight is quickly replaced when you replenish your fluids. However, activities that lead to sweating often burn up calories. Sitting in a sauna uses up energy as your body tries to restore your normal temperature. If you are sweating because you have been exercising, you have been burning calories. So sweating is a good goal to incorporate as part of a weight loss programme because it means that your body is eliminating toxins and burning up calories. Just be sure to make sweating a part of a larger programme of balanced nutrition and exercise for a maximum effect.

Sweating can also be very relaxing for both your body and your mind. When you sweat, your body’s muscles are warmed up by humidity and heat. This helps to release the stress and fatigue brought on by muscle tension.

Now that you understand the relationship that exists between sweating and the effects it has on your body, you should find ways to use it to your advantage. Keep your skin looking good, burn fat and even prevent yourself from getting sick by sweating more often. It’s a great way to take care of yourself and cleanse your body of dangerous toxins. Stay Fit!
